Apparently, according to my mother, a couple of clarifications about my last two posts are required.
1) Zanzibar is predominantly Muslim and burkas are quite common in the town. Therefore, we were careful to dress respectfully when walking around the town. However....it is appropriate to wear swimsuits on the beach. The beaches of Zanzibar are very touristy!
2) I was not riding a turtle in that photo. I was merely standing above the turtle for a photo opportunity!!
